Shasta Daisy

The Daisy Shasta Alaska, 'Chrysanthemum maximum', is an easy to grow, long blooming, very hardy perennial. The large, single, 3 to 5 inch bright white flowers make for a beautiful addition to any perennial garden.The flowers have a distinct yellow center. The Shasta Alaska has a very long blooming period of 90 to 120 days, early summer to fall. Plant in early spring, 2 to 3 weeks before the average last frost date, or as late as 2 months before the first fall frost. The Alaska Shasta makes excellent cut flowers.

White Buttons Daisy

The Daisy White Buttons, 'Chrysanthemum paludosum', has masses of small 1/2 to 1 inch white flowers with yellow centers that bloom for months and months. The bright white flowers look radiant in the light of a full moon. There are so many flowers, it is hard to see the foliage. They bloom continually from spring until fall. Shear the White Buttons Daisy back in mid summer to encourage better fall bloom. The White Buttons Daisy makes excellent cut flowers and is used in window boxes, pots, rock gardens and as an edging plant.

Yellow Buttons Daisy

The Daisy Yellow Buttons, 'Chrysanthemum multicaule', has delightful masses of buttery, golden-yellow flowers atop mats of fleshy, succulent green foliage. You will be delighted with this low growing annual groundcover that has masses of pretty little 1/2 to 3/4 inch daisy-like, cup-shaped flowers. Plant these easy to grow daisies in the spring, 2 weeks before the last average frost date. Besides an annual groundcover, the Yellow Buttons can be used as a cut flower and it is excellent in window boxes, pots, and rock gardens.

Zulu Prince Daisy

The Daisy Cape Zulu Prince, 'Venidium fastuosum', is a beautiful cut flower and is perfect for hot, dry, sunny spots. The Zulu Prince holds large 4 inch flowers that are exotic looking in the garden. The flowers have creamy white petals with an inner ring of purple and yellow. The Cape Daisy blooms from mid summer to late fall. Plant in early spring, after the last average frost date. The Zulu Blend is excellent for wildflower planting and in beds, borders, parking strips, or roadsides.

Angels Trumpet Datura

The Datura Angel's Trumpet, 'Datura meteloides', has fragrant and showy flowers that open late in the day to enhance the evening garden. If your time only allows you to enjoy an evening garden, then the Datua is the plant. The pale blooms will glow well into the twilight and their scent is heavenly. The flowers are 6 inches long, trumpet-shaped and white in color, tinged with lilac. Take advantage of the heavenly fragrance by planting the Datura close to a window. Note: All parts of this plant are poisonous.

Pacific Giant Mix Delphinium

The Delphinium Pacific Giant Blend, 'Delphinium elatum', is one of the most breathtaking plants you can grow in your garden. The Pacific Giant Blend is statuesque and spectacular in color. The tall and closely packed, large, well formed blossoms appear in colors of pink, violet, and many shades of blue. Plant in the spring after the last average frost date or as late as 2 months before the first fall frost. Pacific Giants make great cut flowers and a background for flower beds.

Maiden Pink Shrimp Dianthus

The Dianthus Maiden Pink Shrimp, 'Dianthus deltoides 'Shrimp', has very vivid, crimson-scarlet flowers that appear the first year from seed. The flowers are starry wonders with the most vivid color you have ever seen. The 1/2 to 3/4 inch flowers are star shaped and borne on the ends of 8 to 10 inch stems. Plant in the early spring, 2 to 4 weeks before the average last frost date, or up to 2 months before the first fall frost. The Maiden Pink is used for borders, as an edging, and in rock gardens.

Twinspur Pink Queen Diascia

The Diascia Twinspur Pink Queen, 'Diascia barberae', is a low growing groundcover, sprinkled with adorable rose-pink flowers. You will fall in love with the charming shell-like rose-pink flowers. The shell-like flowers are 3/4 inch across and have two prominent spurs on the back. The Pink Queen starts blooming near the end of spring and continues blooming through summer. The Pink Queen Twinspur is ideal for rock and alpine gardens and is smashing in mixed borders and containers.

Purple Coneflower Echinacea

The Echinacea Purple Coneflower, 'Echinacea purpurea', is a long lived tough perennial that withstands drought, wind and humidity and it is used for its suspected medicinal value. The Purple Coneflower has 2 to 3 inch long drooping petals that are surrounded with a purple/maroon/brown conical center, 3 inches in diameter. Plant in early spring, 3 to 4 weeks before the last frost or as late as 2 months before the first fall frost. They make excellent cut flowers and borders.

English Daisy

The English Daisy, 'Bellis perennis', has profuse bright red and white cushion-like flowers that are a perfect accent for any border. The English Daisy is the "original" Daisy. The yellow-eyed, bright red and white flowers will brighten up any border or rock garden. Plant in early spring, 2 to 3 weeks before the average last frost date or as late as 2 months before the first fall frost. The English Daisy makes excellent cut flowers and is an outstanding bedding and border plant.

Flax Blue

The Flax Blue Lewisii, 'Linum perenne Lewisii', is a drought resistant, sun loving, graceful plant with clusters of sky-blue flowers that last 6 to 12 weeks. The pleasing 1/2 to 1 inch azure blue flowers appear on airy, delicate, gracefully arching branches. The blooms last one day, but they are continually replaced by new ones. Plant in the spring after the last average frost date or 2 months before the first fall frost. Flax looks great when planted in mass and in rock gardens.

Victoria Blue Dwarf Forget-Me-Not

The Forget-Me-Not Victoria Blue, 'Myosotis sylvatica compacta', is a superior strain of one of the earliest spring bloomers. Not many plants bloom well in the shade, but Victoria Blue prefers it. The Victoria Blue Forget-Me-Not has numerous 1/3 inch flowers that are petite, blue star-shaped and with a white center. The flowers rise gracefully above neat, low growing mounds. The Forget-Me-Nots are excellent for woodland settings and for an early splash of color in moist shady areas.

Marvel of Peru Four O Clock

The Four O'clock Marvel of Peru, 'Mirabilis jalapa', has flowers that often open after 4 pm for late day drama. They are lightly fragrant. Four O'clock grows and flowers almost anywhere including hot, windy spots. The 2 inch long, 1 inch wide tubular shaped flowers appear in colors of crimson, red, scarlet, white, pink, and yellow. Water frequently for best results. Plant in the spring after the last average frost date. Marvel of Perus are excellent for pots or large tubs, and they make an great annual hedge.

Gloxiniaflora Mixture Foxglove

The Foxglove Gloxiniiflora, 'Digitalis purpurea 'Gloxiniiflora', is a dramatic bloomer for your shade garden and it makes a stunning cut flower. The Gloxiniiflora is a very sturdy variety of Foxglove. It is considered a biennial because it produces foliage the first year and flowers the 2nd year. The 2 to 3 inch long flowers are white, pink, salmon, yellow, cream, and cerise. It prefers to be moist. Plant seeds in the spring after the last frost up until 2 months before the first fall frost.

Dwarf Goblin Gaillardia

The Gaillardia Goblin, 'Gaillardia grandiflora', is commonly called Blanket Flower. The Goblin is a dwarf Gaillardia that is easy to grow and blooms continuously. This compact plant is perfect for the front of the border. The semi-double flowers are 3 inches wide and are a deep red with wide gold edges. Plant in the spring as soon as the soil can be worked or in the summer/early fall, or at least 2 months before first fall frost. Goblins are used in low borders, rock gardens and in hot dry locations.

Semi-Dwarf Mix Godetia

The Godetia, 'Clarkia amoena', is a native American Wildflower that has tall spikes of shimmering, satiny petals. This Godetia is a native to California and British Columbia and is one of the most beautiful flowers you can grow. The flowers are satiny, wavy, and rippling, looking somewhat like a full skirt and are ideal as a cut flower. Godetia is dramatic grown in large pots. Plant in the spring, 2 weeks before the average last frost date. In zones 8 through 10, plant in the fall.

Strawberry Fields Gomphrena

The Gomphrena Strawberry Fields, 'Gomphrena haageana', will delight you with it's vivid, striking red flower clusters. It is a native of Texas and Mexico so they are recommended for areas with hot and humid summers. Strawberry fields has 3/4 inch wide, round, papery. lover-like flower heads. They bloom from summer into early fall. They do not require any special care and are fairly drought tolerant. Plant in the spring after the last average frost date. They make excellent cut and dried flowers.

Blue Eyed Grass

The Grass Blue Eyed, 'Sisyrinchium bellum', is a delightful little Iris relative from the coast of California. The tufts of narrow, upright bluish-green leaves lend a casual air to the flower bed or rock garden. They resemble an ornamental grass until constellations of bluish-purple star shaped flowers appear for several weeks in the spring. The Blue Eyed Grass is used in flower beds, cottage gardens, meadows, or rock gardens where it's self sowing habit and wandering ways are assets.

Bunny Tails Grass

The Grass Bunny Tails, 'Lagurus ovatus', is wonderful for flower arrangements. The furry flowers are practically shatter-proof. Kids love the flower heads. Bunny Tails forms an upright fountain of charming soft and fluffy flower heads that are as soft as an actual bunny tail. The 2 inch long flower head are dense, pale and feathery. They begin to bloom in early summer and continue to bloom for 30 to 90 days. Charter's Double is used for edible flowers, cut flowers, dried flowers, and as background screens.

The Hollyhock Indian Spring, 'Alcea rosea 'Indian Spring', has very tall spires of old fashioned flowers. The flowers are 3 to 6 inches wide and appear in colors of yellow, purple, pink, red, and white. They begin to bloom in early summer and continue to bloom for 30 to 90 days. Hollyhocks thrive in heavily composted fertile, organic soils. Plant seed in early summer, if planted too early they seem to lose their perennial habit. Indian Spring is used for edible flowers, cut flowers, dried flowers, and as background screens.
