The Hardy Ice Plant Mersa Verde, 'Delosperma Mersa Verde, is a wonderful ground cover that has single, dark salmon blooms. The foliage, which makes this plant a real winner, is deep green, almost succulent looking and extremely shinny. Delosperma has a plant spread of 12 and a height of 2. It does prefer dry and sandy soil and does not like wet soil in the winter. Hot conditions keep the flowers blooming most of the summer and it requires little to no care. The Ligularia Brit Marie Crawford, 'Ligularia dentata', is a wonderful yellow-orange, daisy-like flower with huge glossy maroon foliage that remains dark for most of the season. The foliage can be kidney or round shaped to triangular with a wavy margin. The flowers appear on tall spikes. Blooming from July to August, Brit Marie Crawford has a plant height of 3-4 and a spread of 36-48. Use Ligularia in group or mass plantings, woodland gardens, or along streams, ponds, pools or bog gardens.

Othello Leopard Plant

The Ligularia Othello Leopard Plant, Ligularia dentata, is a wonderful yellow-orange, daisy-like flower with huge leathery, toothed, heart-shaped, basal leaves. Kobold Gayfeather Blazing Star

The Liatris Kobold Gayfeather, Liatris spicata, has tall, lilac-rose spike-shaped flowers with a fluffy appearance and dark green foliage. The flowers open from the top down and bloom from June to September. Liatris Kobold has a plant height of 2 and a spread of 12-18. It does prefer a bit more moisture than most Liatris, but do not over water.
