Trailing Antique Rose Diascia

Dimity Dwarf Fleece Flower

The Mountain Fleece Dimity, 'Persicaria affinis', a Blooms of Bressingham plant, is a wonderful variety in the Persicaria family. The superb green leaves turn red bronze in the fall and the pink flower spikes appear from summer into autumn. Dimity has a plant height of 6 and a spread of 18-23. The foliage forms a shiny carpet that should not be missed. Dimity should be planted in a full sun area but can tolerate some afternoon shade. Dimity will look great in any perennial garden, in mixed container, woodland edge or near ponds and streams.

Gateway Joe-Pye Weed

The Eupatorium Gateway Joe-Pye Weed, Eupatorium purpureum, is a wonderful lavender purple bloomer that stands 4 tall with a plant spread the 29-35. With beautiful wine red stems that develop large green leaves, it is a definite attractor to butterflies and bees and is deer resistant. Joe Pye Weed looks wonderful with Rudbeckia Black Eyed Susan, Aster Woods Purple, with ornamental grasses or in a perennial border. It is a great background plant but does need a lot of room to grow.

Chocolate Mist Flower

The Eupatorium Chocolate Mist Flower, Eupatorium rugosum, also known as White Snakeroot, has a shiny, deep purple stem with chocolate leaves. Chocolate Mist is a wonderful white bloomer that stands 4 tall with a plant spread the 29-35. Chocolate Mist is a definite attractor to butterflies and bees and is deer resistant. Oenothera requires full sun and needs a good drainage site. Try planting Glowing Magenta with Salvia, Achillea or Columbine. For a wonderful sun ground cover, one will not want to leave Glowing Magenta out of their garden.

The Evening Primrose Lemon Sunset, Oenothera longifolia, is a new Oenothera unlike any other. The large, 4 soft yellow flowers matures to a red sunset colr thst is complimented by its rich red stems. It has a plant height of 3 and a spread of 36-48. Lemon Sunset will flower its first year, June to August. Oenothera requires full sun and needs a good drainage site. Try planting Lemon Sunset with Salvia, Achillea or Columbine. For a wonderful sun perennial, one will not want to leave Lemon Sunset out of their garden.

Evening Primrose- Missouri Primrose

The Evening Primrose 'Missouri Primrose', 'Oenothera 'Missouri Evening Primrose', is a Missouri native plant found on limestone glades and rocky prairies in the Ozark region. The beautiful canary yellow flowers add great color in any perennial garden and will bloom from May to August. This easily grown Oenothera should be planted in full sun and a well-drained area. With a plant height of 9-12" and a spread of 12-18", the mildly fragrant flowers open for only one day, usually late afternoon but will last until the following morning. Best used in front of borders or rock gardens, it will add color in wild gardens, meadows, cottage gardens or in native plant gardens. Do not over water.

Fuschia - Cape Horn™

The Fuchsia Cape Horn, Fuchsia 'Cape Horn'™, is a truly hardy fuchsia with very distinctive single bloom flowers of magenta and purple coloring. The flowers appear mid summer through frost. They are great plants for greenhouses, window boxes, baskets, homes, and flower beds. Fuchsias should be planted in warm, sheltered spots in well-drained soil. These plants have dark green leaves often with red stems. Fuchsias are one of the Hummingbirds favorite flowers. Fuchsias do not like to dry out. Keep the soil moist to the touch from spring through autumn. In many parts of the country (and especially if planted in a hanging pot) the fuchsia will require daily watering.

Gallardia - Arizona Sun

The Blanket Flower Arizona Sun, Gaillardia 'Arizona Sun', is extremely eye catching in any perennial garden. The beautiful bright red petals are tipped in gold and surround its orange and yellow central cone. Arizone Sun will flower from June through autumn. Gaillardias thrive in hot sunny sites and need well-drained soil. Deer and rabbits tend to avoid this particular Gaillardia. Arizona Sun can be used in borders, containers or use as cut flowers and was a 2005 All-American Selection.

Burgunder Gaillardia

The Gaillardia Burgunder, Gaillardia x grandiflora 'Burgundy', also known as Gaillardia burgundy, has wonderful waxy red-maroon flowers with slight pale yellow centers. The foliage is a gray-green almost basil like. Burgunder blooms from early June through fall with a plant height of 23-29 and a width of 12-18. For the perfect site, try planting in sunny borders, dry or windy sites, in mass plantings or in containers. Burgunder will also produce long-lasting cut flowers.

Gaillardia - Fanfare

The Blanket Flower 'Fanfare', 'Gaillardia x grandiflora 'Fanfare' USPP#15892', is one of the best on the market today. 'Fanfare' is known for its two-toned daisy like blooms with trumpet-shaped petals. With bright yellow tips and scarlet-red centers, it is a must in any perennial garden. Bloom time will last from early June until early fall. 'Fanfare' has a plant height of 18-24" and a spread of 15-18" and should be planted in full sun in a dry area. Deer and rabbits tend to avoid this particular Gaillardia. Plant 'Fanfare' in borders, containers or use as cut flowers. Do not over water. Protected by Plant Breeder's Rights - propagation prohibited.

Kobold Gaillardia

The Gaillardia Kobold Blanket Flower, Gaillardia x Goblin, has wonderful blooms that are red, orange and bright yellow, and are almost daisy like. The foliage is a gray-green almost basil like. Kobold blooms from early June through fall with a plant height of 12 and a width of 10-12. For the perfect site, try planting in sunny borders, dry or windy sites, in mass plantings or in containers. Kobold Blanket Flower will also produce long-lasting cut flowers.

The Galium Sweet Woodruff, 'Galium odoratum', is a new ground cover that has delicate white flowers that look wonderful with its dark green foliage. When dried, the leaves are mildly fragrant. Galium blooms from late spring to early summer. Sweet Woodruff has a plant height of 6-12 and a plant spread of 12. It requires full sun but will tolerate morning shade and moist, well-drained soil. (More shade is required in warm climates.) Use Sweet Woodruff as an edging perennial, in a naturalized area, or as a ground cover beneath shrubs.

Brookside Geranium, being drought tolerant, needs a full sun area with some shade in the afternoon. For best results, plant in a dry to moist area in a well-drained site. There is an attraction to bees and butterflies and it is very disease and deer resistant. A great plant for a beginner gardener.
