Burgundy Glow Ajuga

The Ajuga Burgundy Glow, Ajuga reptans, is a useful ground cover with short spikes of blue flowers. This Ajuga is one of the most popular, forming striking mounds of leaves dappled in green, pink and cream. During the wintertime, Ajuga Burgundy Glow develops rich bronze and burgundy tones. It is relatively carefree, however, it can be invasive. If one is looking for a perennial ground cover to exceed in a hard to grow shady area, Ajuga is the way to go.

Black Scallop Ajuga

The Ajuga, 'Black Scallop', Ajuga reptans 'Black', has 'dark as night' foliage with gorgeously scalloped leaves. Black Scallops are a knock out in patio pots, combos, and as a striking accent with white, gold or light-colored plants. It displays deep blue flower spikes. It is suitable for full sun or shade. The plants have short growth habits, 3 to 6" and are hardy to zone 4. A very striking plant to supply color to your garden or patio.

Chocolate Chip Ajuga

The Ajuga Chocolate Chip, Ajuga x 'Chocolate Chip', is a useful ground cover with short spikes of blue flowers. This Ajuga has unusually narrow foliage of dark green, overlaid with chocolate-brown, forming a very low clump. It is most noted for its dwarf habit and its chocolate foliage. The flowers appear in spring and are 4 in height with a plant width of 12-18. If one is looking for a perennial ground cover to exceed in a hard to grow shady area, Choclate Chip Ajuga is the way to go.

Bronze Beauty Ajuga

The Ajuga Bronze Beauty, Ajuga reptans, is a useful ground cover with short spikes of blue flowers. The foliage is evergreen in most regions and has an attractive bronzy-brown shade that quickly forms a low carpet of medium-sized rounded leaves. Bronze Beauty will perform well in tubs or mixed containers and makes a beautiful ground cover. Catlins Giant Ajuga

The Ajuga Catlins Giant, Ajuga reptans, is a useful ground cover with short spikes of blue flowers. Catlins Giant is one of the largest-growing varieties, forming bronzy-red, spinach-like leaves. This Ajuga is an excellent ground cover for shady areas where perennials and grass will not grow. Combine Catlins Giant with yellow and purple spring blooming perennials to make an attractive garden. If one is looking for a perennial ground cover to exceed in a hard to grow shady area, Ajuga is the way to go.

Metal. Crispa Ajuga

The Ajuga Metal. Crispa, Ajuga pyramidalis, is a useful ground cover with short spikes of cobalt blue flowers. Metal. Crispa has very tight, crisp-leafed crinkled purple foliage, almost prune-like, with a green-brown shine. The flowers appear in early spring on 8 spikes with a plant spread of 12-24. Metal. Crispa is excellent for shady moist areas but will adapt to a little more sun than most Ajuga. If one is looking for a perennial ground cover to exceed in a hard to grow shady area, Ajuga's are the way to go.

Mahogany Bugleweed Ajuga

The Ajuga , Mahogany Bugleweed, Ajuga reptans Mahogany, is a robust Ajuga with a flat trailing habit and shiny, short-stemmed leaves. The lush, almost black-burgundy, glossy leafed foliage will turn to a deep rich Mahogany color and turns even darker and more lustrous during the winter months. It is excellent when used for borders and in mixed containers, as well as in areas where grass is shade-challenged. Fast grower. Space 6-12" apart when used as a groundcover.

Herman's Pride False Lamium

The False Lamium Herman's Pride, 'Lamiastrum galeobdolon', also known as Yellow Archangel, is an eye-catching perennial in any garden. With its silver and green veined foliage, the bright yellow blooms add color to the plant. It has a plant height of 10-15 and a spread of 2-3. Hermans Pride should be planted in partial to full shade in a well drained area and it tolerats poor soil conditions and drought. Blooms will appear late spring to early summer. Hermans Pride looks great in hanging baskets, window boxes or as a filler plant.

Honeysong Purple Stokes Aster

The Aster Honeysong Purple, 'Stokesia laevis', has leathery, strap-like leaves that form a clump at the base with huge true royal purple daisy-like flowers with a hint of red at the end of the stem. The powdery blue flowers bloom from July until frost have a plant height of 14 and a plant spread of 18-24. Honeysong Purple Aster will do best in a full sun area with morning shade and well-drained soil. Great for summer color in beds, borders or containers it produces excellent cut flowers.
